FARO needed a new website that represented reflected the innovation and quality of their 3D imaging products.
My goal while designing the style tile options for the site was something that pushed the boundaries of what the client thought was possible in Sitecore. We had to deliver a system that was easily editable by FARO’s employees and freelancers working all around the world. I designed content blocks and card styles that could be reconfigured endlessly by someone with no design experience, and developed Photoshop templates for sizing and stylizing images properly. Neumorphic design styles on buttons and the way light follows your cursor on top of some elements evokes the lasers and 3D models FARO’s products produce.
FARO.com design and implementation was a group effort. I developed the initial style tiles and site design with my Creative Director Tom Hayward. After wire framing and module designing with Senior Art Director Kyrsten Benoit and Senior Copywriter Jenn Hollmeyer, I directed and project managed asset creation with Graphic Designer Julie Van de Wille, Production Artist Paul Matthews and a team of freelance designers.
